Christmas songs performed in Tuna Park by IES Eskilstunas choir

On Saturday, December 10th, Christmas songs were performed in Tuna Park by our fantastic choir. It was much appreciated and many visitors stopped by and listened to the peformance, and had by the same time the opportunity to ask questions about our offer for our students.

A big thank you to our choir members for always being so engaged, and we would also say thank you to our choir leaders, Mr. Almqvist and Mr. Boyton.

Nobel Museum Researchers' Prize

We would like to congratulate IES Eskilstuna students Jakob Johansson and Axel Axelsson, 9G, for winning the Forskares Pris (Researchers' Prize) for their research and poster performed as part of Nobel Museum's Musikjakten research competition.

This is the second year in a row that students from IES Eskilstuna have won the Researchers' Prize!

Musikjakten competition: Internationella Engelska Skolan i Eskilstuna

Students from 9G at IES Eskilstuna have created and submitted a poster for Nobel Museum's Musikjakten competition. Hundreds of students across Sweden participated by creating music using a digital music engine based on principles of evolution. Sounds were created by pairing and mutating the "genetic code" of other sounds through multiple generations to create new and unique sounds. Students then analysed data collected about both the sounds created and information about the users' musical tastes and habits to see if any trends could be seen.

In the final step, the students created a poster describing the research and their results, including a link to one of the new sounds created.

Our students' poster is one of the 25 finalists in the competition. Now it's time for the public to vote!

Follow the link below and click on the Facebook "Like" button at the bottom of the page to help them win! The three posters with the most "likes" will be submitted to a jury and they will select the winning poster.

The prize for the winning poster is three tickets to the Nobel Prize Ceremony in Stockholm in December!
